In the meantime, UVA1 therapy, which has been researched in several studies, has been established as a successful, cortisone free standard therapy. Since 1997, medisun-UVA1-beds has most definitely been among the best selling. medisun-UVA1 beds, which is the first and is currently the only individual system, has a modern computer control system and a partial radiation capability. medisun-UVA1 beds have been used in several clinics and doctor’s offices worldwide with great success for 15 years.
The existing UVA1 high pressure lamp technology was admittedly very successful, but also required expensive ventilations systems and large power supply connections (approx. 26 KW). The associated operating costs are correspondingly higher.
The new UVA1-System medisun-Xenia with an innovative bulb technology solves these problems. The energy requirement is reduced to only 5 KW and there is no more need for an expensive ventilations system.
A technological revolution
The medisun Xenia UVA1 contains a completely new and patented cabinet concept. Despite the great weight, the lamp cover can be swiveled backwards quite easily.
The patient lies in a system which is open at all time, even during the exposure, and this cannot cause claustrophobia. The lamp canopy can also be easily opened by the patients at any time. Electrically powered machinery is not required. This reduces maintenance costs.
The 72 special lamps hardly produce any heat; instead they produce mainly UV and visible light rays. Therefore the expensive ventilation systems which are required in conventional UVA1-beds can be dispensed with.
A further advantage is the possibility of carrying out partial radiation with 6 partial fields which can be individually measured into doses. After an exposure, the lamps can be switched on again without a cooling phase. The patients lie on a hygienic artificial leather mattress which can be comfortably used with disposable covers.
The modern All-in-One-PC control allows for simple, safe and intuitive operation. In addition, it is possible to integrate medisun Xenia in the medisoft therapy management system network and control it from the reception by remote control. Alternatively, medisun-Xenia is also offered in a PUVA– und UVB311-Version.
